Who is Banksy?
Banksy is an anonymous street artist from the United Kingdom who is known worldwide for his socially critical and often humorous works. He uses walls and public spaces as canvases to point out political and social injustices. His most famous works include “Girl with a Balloon”, “Love is in the Air” and “Flower Thrower”. Bansky is considered the most famous graffiti artist in the world. Little is known about him. His real name is not known, and it is not even certain whether Bansky is a man or a woman.
Bansky exhibition in Krakow
The Banksy Museum in Krakow displays many reproductions of his most famous works as well as installations and interactive elements that give visitors the opportunity to delve deeper into the artist’s world. You get a complete overview of his works without having to travel to England. The museum is well done, for us an absolute highlight of a trip to Krakow. There are not many museums in the world that deal with the subject of graffiti. The Bansky Museum in Poland is perhaps the best.
The collection includes works that deal with themes such as consumer society, war, peace, power and justice.
Workshops in the museum
Visitors can take part in great workshops that deal with the history and techniques of graffiti, or even try to create their own artwork in the Banksy style. These workshops are particularly popular with younger museum visitors.
